Walking In Squares 2015

An archetype of modernity, the flaneur drifted through the city, establishing a presence that challenged our perception of public space. The contemporary walker is being transformed by technology. Walking in Squares (2015) brings together the arts of walking and printmaking, combining traditional and contemporary techniques. GPS was used to record the artist’s movements in a public square. The resulting trace was drawn onto a lithographic stone, digitally captured, and printed onto archival photorag.
